• Inherited blood disorders such as sickle cell disease (SCD) or haemophilia are common throughout much of sub-Saharan Africa together affecting up to 4% of births.
• The absence of early, precise and rapid diagnosis is the major roadblock to saving lives of thousands of children per year and poses a significant burden on healthcare from long-term disability
